Ayaz Ali - Assignment 6A

Assignment 6A - Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends  Opportunities: Increasing minimum wage, decreasing interest rates, decreasing sales tax, and ending the government shutdown. 1. Increasing minimum wage: I went to different newspaper websites and found that minimum wage prices seemed to be a topic that was being reoccured. Minimum wage has been a topic of discussion for quite some time as many people believe it should be raised. Many workers do not believe that the minimum wage right now is enough to help them in their lives, and the argument can be made easily. Many people work minimum wage jobs, and it is unfair to them to make such little money when they have so many responsibilities. The customers for this scenario would be all workers making minimum wage. I believe the opportunity to increase the minimum wage should be quite easy. Companies are making tons of money, and they should be okay with paying their workers a little more than they...

Ayaz Ali - Assignment 5A

Assignment 5A - Identifying Local Opportunities 1. Pedestrian Safety: Create more steady barriers along roads and create more pathways for pedestrians to walk on. Also, enforce stricter punishments for reckless driving. Title: "Walking? You're risking your life in Florida, the deadliest state for pedestrians" Link: https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/article224923045.html Description: It was crazy to read about this and see how dangerous Florida really was for pedestrians. Could you believe walking could be dangerous? Well Florida has a shocking 9 out of the top 20 cities that are deadly for pedestrians. The article talks about how Florida was "built" to be deadly for pedestrians because of the structure of its roads and its known ways of high speed and reckless driving. Florida has had a staggering 5,433 pedestrian deaths in the last 10 years, and it cannot be overlooked anymore. A few could say it's bad luck, or wrong place at the wrong time, ...

Ayaz Ali - Assignment 4A

Assignment 4 - Forming an opportunity belief Beginning Point : I definitely believe opportunity exists. My opportunity belief is that there could be an opportunity to create more parking space in my apartment complex, Gainesville Place. Description : The unmet need is that parking at Gainesville Place is getting more and more limited. This need affects all residents living in the apartment complex and makes it difficult for us to find parking or even park close to where our apartments are located. This was not a major issue according to prior residents, but within the past year it has became more and more of an issue. Me and my roommates sometimes are forced to park very far from our apartment and sometimes even have to park in the next apartment complex and walk over to Gainesville Place. There is a bunch of open land and grass areas that can easily be converted into parking space, and I think the apartment directors should definitely look into making a change.  The proto...

Ayaz Ali 3A - Entrepreneurship Story

Image
Assignment 3A - Entrepreneurship Story I was exposed to entrepreneurship at a early age. As a kid I was very interested in entrepreneurship and how these ordinary people would view things and make a concept out of them. In high school I was a part of the entrepreneur club, DECA, for three years and participated in many events for the club. I have created 11-page and two 30-page manuals based off entrepreneurship ideas and presented the project in front of judges. In my junior year, my 30-page manual actually made it to nationals, and ever since then I have been in love with the idea of entrepreneurship. It was always a goal of mine to create a product based off entrepreneur ideas, and I can say ever since high school I have created many different products and it has been a blast in doing so. I chose this class because I actually needed to for my Innovation Academy course this semester. It was between this course and another engineering course, but it was an easy decision fo...

Ayaz Ali 2A - Bug List

Assignment 2A - Bug List This assignment was very interesting for me, as I never really put much thought into the "bugs" that I see happening all around me. With that being said here is my list of "bugs": 1. Whenever I need to charge my phone, I have to twist the wire around at an awkward position for it to actually charge. Why do I have to twist my charger for it to work? It is clear that this charging wire is not at a 100% and it clearly is not as effective as it should be. It would probably be best for me to invest in a new wire soon. 2. This may seem a bit ridiculous, but instead of going to buy water, I go to my local community gym and fill my gallon up every time I run out. Why do I continue to not buy water, or why do I not invest in a filter? This is one that has really been bugging me, but I am just being lazy and do not feel like going to the store and buying more water. Clearly, it is time for me to make a change. 3. Every time I go on ...
