Ayaz Ali - Assignment 20

Assignment 20

1) Domain Expert: I would look at John Riley to be my domain expert in my company, as he is also working with metal detector products. John has been working with metal detectors for 10 years now and he is very devoted to the product. I think bringing him into the industry will aid the company and the product as a whole. John is a 42 year old male, who is married with 2 kids. He is from Italy and has been living in the US his entire life. I met him through other mutual connections and wanted to bring him aboard.

2)Market Expert: I was thinking of bringing in the profound seller, Will Banks aboard for this industry. Will has tons of experience selling products and he has many connections and he will do a great job of selling our product and making it go big. He is a 34 year old male and is currently engaged. He has been living here in the US his entire life and I met him from an online source.

3)Supplier: The industry would look at Jackson Bridges as a supplier for the product. Jackson works with John and both can help us bring in what we need and how much of it. He can help supply the product to whoever needs it and can also do it a fast and efficient rate. he is a 40 year old male, married with 3 kids and moved to the US at the age of 21 from Europe.

These people will help get my industry on the right track and can help spread the work relatively quick. This experience will help me when searching for future partners in the industry because now I know what expectations I should have from these potential people. High expectations can lead to greatness, and these people can lead my industry to greatness.

  1. Hey Ayaz,
It sounds like you have identified some great people that can help you. I think it is necessary to have resources and connections to progress a business, an idea, or any goal you have. Human capital is your most important resource. However, I didn't see anything stated about how you would connect to them or the favors you'd ask for and what you'd give back. In business, it really is a scratching back kind of world, so knowing what you have to offer and how others can push your vision further is critical.

  2. Hey Ayaz,
I agree these look like great people to talk you, but you don't identify if you did actually have the interviews with them. I think that Alan brings put a great point with the fact that you could have t discussed what you wanted to ask each of them about their business ideas and connection at relate to your own. Or how they could have helped you further your business. These peoples seem like the could really help you though and I think that it would be important to actually reach out to them and get some advise.
