Ayaz Ali - Assignment 12
Assignment 12 - Sketching out the Beginning of the Buyer Behavior Process
1) Segment: Teachers
2) 1st Interview: I decided to interview my former teacher, Mr. Jones. Mr. Jones was also on security duty before becoming a full-time teacher, and he gave me some very valuable information in my interview. In my interview, I asked him general questions about the idea, and what he thought about it. He said he liked the idea a lot and thinks it will help with issues in school about safety. He explained how this would really avoid any dangerous events from occurring in school areas and would be helpful for everyone. There really is not a time a dangerous event can happen in school, they mostly just come out of nowhere. It would be more helpful in situations where there are lots of kids rallied together in one area and it is hard to keep track of everyone, but knowing that most likely nobody has a dangerous weapon on them is nice. Mr. Jones explains how he would definitely like to do more research on my topic and idea, and would consult with some of his friends and get different perspectives.
2nd Interview: The next interview I did was on my neighbor, Mrs. Hanes. Mrs. Hanes is also a teacher and she loved the idea as well. She explained to me how you never know what could happen and that we should be prepared at all costs. The metal detector idea really would save a lot of hassle and also possibly lives if anything were to ever be thought of. Nobody will be able to enter school grounds without having to go through the detector, and it will be great for guards and everyone in the schools. She seemed super ecstatic about the whole idea. During the interview she actually googled "Metal detectors in schools" and saw nothing really. She said she would ask her two sisters about the idea and see what they would think about.
3rd Interview: The last interview was another former teacher, Ms. Williams. Ms. Williams explained how this idea was golden. She says how in bad situations that sometimes people do not how to act and that this will help from anyone ever getting in that anyways. This issue can really take stress of of workers and students in the schools and will make everyone happy to see that our schools are taking initiatives to keep people safe. She explained how she was curious as to what everyone's opinions were on the idea and that she was going to google more information later and also ask her fellow teachers about the idea.
3) Conclusion: I think teachers have this need just as much as anyone in schools. The number one priority here is to keep everyone safe and sometimes teachers have to step up and take care of their students in certain scenarios. People do not realize how stressful a catastrophic event could be, and many people freeze out of fear. Teachers should be asked about their opinions on my idea as well as how they believe they will handle dangerous scenarios.

Hi Ayaz,
ReplyDeleteI really like the people you chose to interview. Your interviewees give a different insight from the problem and that is very helpful for your business idea. I think you are right that teachers have an important role in this issue. Moreover, teachers also suffer from the consequences of this violence and that is why their opinion is equally important. Good luck!
Hey Ayaz,
ReplyDeleteI think that everyone could benefit from having this that is related to schools. I think that this should have been implemented a long time ago and I believe majority of school officials would agree with you.
Hey Ayaz,
ReplyDeleteAll three of your interviews were great. I thought they gave great insight into the field, especially the first one who had also worked security. My favorite part of the post was when he explained very well how schools are affected by these dangers every day and how the idea could really help with protection. I think your idea is going in a great direction and many people would be happy to implement it.
Shalom Ayaz, I see how you reached the conclusions that teachers may be a better target market than heads of school in particular. The only issue I could see is that its heads of schools, or administration, are the ones who hold the buyer power. I think getting influencers like teachers involved is a great way to get through to those heads, however. Great job with your post!
